Printing from the screen is one of the most efficient techniques when it comes to print. One can use it on silk, paper, and many more products. Though the activity seems natural, this is not the case and here are some challenges that you might face when doing Maryland screen printing and the ways that you can manage them.

Bleeding of colors is one of the common issues that one might face. It can be frustrating when you find that the colors are moving beyond the area that you want, then it means that the paste you are using is too dilute. For best results, you should use a thick paste one that will not cause any form of bleeding and will give you the desired outcome.

It is frustrating when you find that you have gaps that are not equal when you are doing repeats. Most people think that doing a repeat is something simple, but that is not the case. If you want to do it right then, you should be calculative. Check well and do calculative placement.

If you do your calculating and still find that you are not placing it at the ideal location, then you should use other methods. For example, you can make use of colored chalk or placement of strands at the edge. This will help you with the repeat and ensure that the repeat has been well done.

Soiling of cloth might also occur when the edge of the tensile are not blocked. That is because there could be a leak that might pass through the sides and end up soiling the cloth. To solve this, then one has to apply masking tape on the tensile before they start the reproduction.

Having the colored pigments not being distributed is also another issue that you might end up facing. If this is the situation, you might end up with the formation of patches. If you want to have a paste that is evenly distributed, then it is best to make sure that the pigments you use are enough. The other thing you should do is pull the squeegee well.

Pinholes are another issue that you might face, and the worst part is that no matter how many times you do the repeat they do not go away. This leaves your print looking untidy. One of the reasons that you might face a pinhole is if you do not clean up the mesh. It is important to get rid of any impurities before you start the printing so that you can end up with ideal results.

Pinholes might also be caused by coating. This only takes place when the coating is not done right. That is the reason that it is advisable to do the coating more than ones. If you do not do it repeatedly, you will find that when you are washing the fabric, you will get some pinholes. This will make the fabric look poorly done and might compromise your project.
