Having writing and verbal skills is also necessary. Marketing involves convincing people to buy a product or service. To be able to have convincing power, one needs to know how to have his way with words. Verbal skills are particularly important since most of the selling is done by talking to people. It will be an added advantage to be a good writer.

Presentation is important. At times, people who are not very qualified end up being employed while those who are highly qualified are left out. That is because of presentation. One should dress well before going to the interview. It is also desirable to have a presentable resume that will make one to stand out. The curriculum vitae matters.

There is a high demand for people with marketing competencies. That is why there are many marketing jobs in the US and other parts of the world. Companies will always need marketers. Whether it is a health related company or technological startup, there is the need to sale products. That is why there should be a marketing department that has people with marketing competencies.
