Facilitating Generosity Through Innovative Ways

Generosity is not a preserve of the rich. It is a product of the desire to change the lives of people around you by sharing what you have. Religious books record people who have been generous despite their situations being extremely challenging. Facilitating generosity requires a natural desire from the heart. This is a state of life for those with plenty and those whose resources are limited.

Consider the benefits you reap and those that go to the recipient of your action. The giver experiences a feeling of satisfaction because of the impact the donation has on the life of the recipient. On the part of the recipient, there is a great sense of ease since he or she can do things that were previously impossible. Changing that lives of other people is incredibly satisfying, despite the action arising out of the use of meager resources.

Embrace the feeling of gratitude. This could be done by looking at the things that you are grateful about in your life. The list does not have to be of physical possessions. It could involve such elements as good health, friends, daily bread and opportunities in life. You will be awake to the favors that life has denied other people.

Do not target a lot of donations. Begin by offering the small stuff that you can afford. Most people want to make huge contributions yet the people around are only interested in a fraction of what you are thinking about. When you change the life of a person near you, another giver will change that of somebody else, and the world will no longer be the same. Small contributions have a huge impact on the lives of people.

Look for a course that you believe in. It is natural not to believe in some of the courses you are invited to contribute to. However, around you is a need that you can clearly see. Begin with that and do not feel guilty about a course that is away from you or one you cannot identify with. This gives you a chance to change the lives of those around you with a sense of satisfaction.

Spend time with less privileged persons in the society. People who live a life of privilege easily miss the point when some needs help. It is common to think that the needy are in self inflicted positions. By sharing their moments and life, you can identify with their predicaments and develop a soft spot for giving to them.

Spend time with generous people as well. This becomes an eye opener where you experience the impact of giving. The most generous people live lives that are satisfying and stress free. This will transform your idea of giving.

Generosity arises from the desire to transform the lives of people around you and believing in the fact that they can live a better life. Buy the idea that such people need help to enable you contribute towards their uplifting. While the lives of recipients are changed, you enjoy personal satisfaction and gratitude. It is more about having an impact on the fortunes of others than what you give.
