When it comes to advertising, there are several ways in which an individual or business can do so. In most cases, individuals can advertise easily enough through traditional media formats such as newspapers, magazines and online. Whereas, when it comes to small business and companies, a creative agency can often be of assistance.

Advertising is generally advertising regardless of the route an individual or business takes to do so. In most cases, when it comes to agencies, it is a creative team which puts together an advertising or marketing campaign. After which, the team presents the campaign to the client in hopes that the client will be as excited as the team in charge of the project.

To assist individuals and businesses in doing so, there is now a blog known as Clutch which highlights a number of different advertising firms. In fact, there are over 3,500 firms listed on the blog. Along with a success rating, there are also notations as to what each firm has to offer.

While this is the case, most provide the same or similar services to clients. In essence, to create a campaign which will aid in the sell of a product or service. The responsibility for success often lies more with those working on a campaign than others. As a result, some campaigns are often far more successful than others.

The basic process begins with an idea, once the idea has been brought to fruition, the individual or business contacts an advertising firm to create a marketing campaign. After which, if the firm accepts the work, most often a team of employees works to create the campaign. After which, if the client accepts the campaign, it is put before a live audience.

When necessary, there are market research firms whom can provide this service. Whereas, at other times agencies will test market the product or service through promotions at stores and other locations. After which, depending on the response, the campaign will either move forward, or be canceled due to a lack of interest.

After which, agency and client go over the numbers to see if the campaign is viable enough to warrant a larger release to the public. After which, the business pays the advertiser and the campaign is released. Once having reached this stage, the responsibility for the success of advertising often reverts back to the individual or business owner and out of the hands of the agency and the advertising team.

Regardless of whether an individual or business is requesting the service, it is important to have a written contract between agency and client. For, in doing so, both parties are protected against a number of issues during the process. Whereas, as deposits are often required, it is also good to have information related to payment, campaign deadlines and other pertinent information in writing.
